Offshore Outsourcing Is An Unavoidable Trend by David ZHENG

As more companies transfer programming and call- center jobs offshore, the topic of offshore outsourcing is raging throughout the information technology industry. I understand the frustration of workers whose jobs have been removed and of customers who fail to get their technical-support questions answered. But one of the latest studies indicates that the trend may actually be creating more jobs.

Given our global economy, the globalization of the IT industry is inevitable. Most big IT companies do much of their business overseas and naturally want to have some of their employees in those markets. Lower wages in some countries are also a huge incentive to move operations, especially since high-speed communication removes many of the barriers to dealing with U.S.-based colleagues and customers.

Interestingly, figures say that rather than reducing the number of jobs in the U.S., offshoring is lowering costs for everyone and actually creating jobs, thanks to a more efficient economy. It says that about 354,000 new jobs--both IT and non-IT--were created in 2005 thanks to offshore IT outsourcing, and by 2008 the number will reach over 589,000.

According to a study, fewer than 5 percent of U.S. IT jobs have moved offshore. But analysts predict that by 2010 25 percent will be in developing countries. They urge companies to proceed carefully, as such moves could result in the loss of future talent, intellectual assets, and organizational performance.

Of course, the creation of new jobs isn't much consolation for people who have lost their jobs. Still, moving some jobs offshore seems inevitable. There is no good alternative.

All the emphasis on offshore jobs is obscuring an important trend: Information technology jobs are changing dramatically. Though many IT jobs are still out there, you won't find the huge demand--or the huge salaries and generous options--that we saw in the dot-com era. During that period, many companies had trouble filling open positions, which led to higher wages. Now that we're back to normal, wages have retreated too.

Increased productivity also plays a key role in the new IT job scene: IT support requires fewer people than it once did. Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Mac OS X are far from perfect, but there's no question that they are more stable than Windows 95 or 98, or Mac OS 8 or 9. As a result, companies need fewer people to support them. (And if we can ever get spam and viruses under control, we'll need even fewer support personnel.)

Meanwhile, server consolidation and better desktop management have been significant trends for a long time, resulting in the need for fewer IT jobs. These trends are also reflected in job statistics. IT jobs won't disappear altogether, but we may need fewer of them.

Perhaps the biggest transformation taking place is in programming. The number of computer science majors has dropped significantly, a big concern because these are the people who would have their names on the next great innovations.

Wooden Toys: A Return To Basics by Gabriel Adams

As a child, I can remember playing for hours with wooden toys. It was always a new adventure to build forts and other projects from wooden blocks. Looking back, those were some really fun times. Wooden toys allowed us to use or imaginations. Nowadays, it seems all the toys on the market are electronical. This is to keep up with the demands of our children in today's society.

When it comes to toys, technology may be hindering the development of our children's imaginations. Don't get me wrong, the graphics on the video games and laptops for children are quite amazing. However, I just don't see that many children in this age are able to enjoy playing with much of anything that isn't electronic. This is even for the older children with the iPods and MP3 Players.

The saying everything old is new again is true of the fashion industry over and over again. I would definitely love to see it apply to toys. Finding the return of wooden toys to the market for our children to experience and explore would bring a smile to my face. For smaller children, the wooden rocking horse comes to mind. They could find them to be pretty and fun. It seems parents have replaced them with electronic gadgets even for the smallest of children.

I think little girls would enjoy a wooden doll house for Barbie to live in. Then again, it wouldn't have the refrigerator with the light and small ice cubes, the doorbell, or the working lamp as the doll houses on the market now do. For boys, wooden trains could be fun. They are used to electric ones now that run around the track with the push of a button. For both boys and girls the wooden play cub with the bent wires and colorful blocks to move around would really help them develop hand and eye coordination in a much more meaningful way than playing a Gameboy.

Sadly, wooden toys are a thing of the past. As parents, we tend to indulge our children with what they want, and that continues to be the latest electronic toys in the industry. Heck, even good ole stuffed animals and dolls have electronics in them to allow them to sing, dance, walk, and cry. I think technology is good, but it has taken the fun out of the toys on the market.

Acid Reflux Vs. Non-acid Reflux by Kathryn Whittaker

Have you ever experienced a burning sensation in your chest, almost as if your heart is on fire? Have you ever felt a burning sensation in your throat followed by a foul taste in your mouth? If you have, then what you've experienced is acid reflux, commonly referred to as heartburn.

Acid reflux is a common condition that almost everyone experiences at least once during their lifetime. During digestion the stomach produces enzymes and acid to digest food. When the mixture of stomach acid and enzymes are refluxed into the oesophagus more frequently than they should, or for an extended period of time, acid reflux occurs. The most common symptom of acid reflux is a burning sensation behind the breast cavity.

A number of factors can contribute to acid reflux including:

*overweight - excess pounds put pressure on your abdomen and can push your stomach up causing acid to reflux into the oesophagus

*Overeating - Eating too much food can slow digestion.

*Posture and tight clothing - Sitting hunched over while eating or wearing constricting clothing around your waist puts pressure on your stomach

*Foods - many types of food trigger heartburn including: caffeine, fired or fatty foods, salty food, chocolate, excessive alcohol, garlic, peppermint, onion

*Smoking - nicotine aggravates the stomach and oesophagus and inhibits saliva production.

*NSAIDs - Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin and ibuprofen can aggravate the stomach.

Antacids and acid-suppressing medicines can help relieve and prevent acid reflux from occurring. There are many types of these drugs available for over-the-counter (OTC) purchase such as the antacids Rolaids and Pepto-Bismol, and acid-suppressers such as Pepcid AC.

Nevertheless, in rare cases, despite the medications an acid reflux sufferer is given to treat their symptoms, they continue to experience symptoms. Many medical researchers are beginning to believe that the ineffectiveness of the treatment may be due to the fact that those who are being treated for acid reflux are actually suffering from agents within the oesphagus that are not related to stomach acid. This condition is known as non-acid reflux.

What is non-acid reflux?

Non-acid reflux is when other potentially harmful agents (not stomach acid) are refluxed into the oesophagus such as bile. It has been discovered that non-acid reflux is defined as a reflux that has a greater pH level than 4. Unfortunately, not much is known about non-acid reflux, its symptoms, or the affects it has on the oesophagus.

It has been found that most cases of non-acid reflux occur after mealtime when the contents of the stomach are being neutralized, and the condition is more present in children than adults.

Medical researchers are still trying to figure out the exact cause of non-acid reflux. Currently new technology is being used that can accurately determine the presence of acid or non-acid in the oesophagus by measuring the Ph level.

If you believe you are suffering from acid reflux, but you find that OTC antacids are not relieving your symptoms, it is a good idea to seek the advice of your doctor. It is important for you to know what type of reflux you are experiencing so you can properly treat your condition. The reason is if you are suffering from non-acid reflux, taking an antacid will not cure your symptoms because this drug has been designed to neutralize acid - acid which would not be present in the case of non-acid reflux.

In addition, if you suffer from frequent episodes of acid reflux, you should still consult your doctor. It may be possible that your common condition has developed into a chronic disease known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Epic adventure requires an epic setting. Read on and consider how fantasy novels blend magic with the grandeur of nature to create powerful entertainm

Epic adventure requires an epic setting. Read on and consider how fantasy novels blend magic with the grandeur of nature to create powerful entertainment.

Two common elements in most fantasy novels are nature and magic. They are linked to each other and exulted as ideals in fantasy worlds. This creates much of what fantasy readers find appealing in fantasy fiction because the glorification of nature and magic is a pleasing opponent to the concrete and steel and technology that overwhelms modern life.

Characters in fantasy novels often must cross hostile wastes, brave cold mountain passes, and lose their way in dark primeval forests. In fact, readers of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" would agree that most of the story takes place outdoors. And in Christopher Paolini's "Inheritance" trilogy, the hero Eragon and his dragon Saphira spend long stretches of the story in deserts, forests, and mountains.

The emphasis on nature within the fantasy fiction genre adds to its ability to entertain with escapism. Nature is lacking from much of modern life, and especially in urban life, and imagining adventure and freedom upon the open land is a relief and a pleasure. Often while reading fantasy fiction, you can recall the security that your ancestors took from the bright crackle of a camp fire while camping upon a hostile plain. Or you can summon up that natural fear of being alone among the trees when you can feel that something is watching you.

And the partner of nature in the fantasy genre is magic. It is the force that drives the world. It governs and/or exploits societies, and magic acts as the fulcrum of the struggles in the story. Plots are often driven by rivalries between magic users, or forces of good battle with the aid of magic against evil enemies. In fantasy settings, magic is what confers power whether it is on individuals or ruling elites as opposed to technology that empowers the real world.

In fantasy fiction, the supernatural is valid and science is little used. Exploring the wonders of a world run by magic engages readers because it brings them closer to the mysteries of nature. Magic comes from the natural world, and depending on the story, sometimes the Gods, and fantasy enthusiasts are comfortable with magic as a source of power.

Magic acts as a nice foil to the technology that is omnipresent in modern life for most people. Technology is powerful and amazing and seems quite magical, but deep down everyone knows that it can be explained. That it is all wires and chips and circuits and software and that many people know how to make it and manipulate it. Factories spit out millions of awesome gadgets and televisions and computer mother boards. Technology simply lacks that special exclusivity that magic has in a fantasy novel. Not everyone in a fantasy story has magical powers, and powerful items aren't as easy to come by as a cell phone.

The foundation of nature and magic that holds up many fantasy settings appeals to fantasy readers because people often have a longing for a simpler world un-blighted by highways and telephone poles. Within Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" there are undertones in this epic that suggest a wistful regret for the loss of nature to the rise of industry. For example, the place Isengard in the trilogy is described as once being green and having "groves of fruitful trees" but the corrupt Saruman spoiled the land to build an army. "Iron wheels revolved there endlessly, and hammers thudded." Tolkien wrote.

In general, fantasy literature upholds nature as the ideal and authors give much effort to describing its beauty and awesome power. That which destroys nature is portrayed as evil and rightly so. And magic is often portrayed as superior to technology because it is akin to nature. A nice example of this is presented in Paolini's second novel "Eldest" in which he writes how the elves sing plants and trees into accommodating shapes and shelters.

Technology is not absent from fantasy literature, but it has a lesser presence in society. Fantasy settings are typically cast in pre-industrial agricultural and merchant societies. Technology is limited to trades and crafts, which are much more pleasing and benign than real world factories and nuclear power plants.

Although magic can be good because of its relationship to nature, it of course is a power that can be corrupted and twisted to evil -- as all power can. The struggle between good and evil is also an important part of the fantasy formula, but that is a whole other subject.

Start some buzz online about your home based business by Tracy Falbe

Running your home based business has its challenges, but thankfully they don't include fighting morning traffic. Aside from the significant lifestyle advantages, your home based business needs the same things as any business to be successful, and among these needs is publicity.

Publicity is wonderful. It's free advertising, but usually you have to create publicity for your business unless your house happens to get hit by a meteor. A critical first step for gaining some media exposure is to issue a press release. You might think that your home based business has no chance of getting publicity, but it certainly has no chance if you don't try.

The press release is a basic tool for public relations and it accompanies most any marketing campaign. Press releases are used by companies of all sizes and by non-profit organizations, and if you have something newsworthy to announce, there is no reason you can't start putting out press releases too.

What a press release does is announce something new and interesting about your business and puts it in a format that is easy to understand, short, and ideally arouses interest for more information. A press release needs to cover the basics just like any good news article: who, what, where, when, and how. The purpose of a press release is to attract the attention of journalists so that you will be featured in an article or broadcast.

Even if you do not get a whole story just about you, a press release is an excellent way to introduce yourself and position yourself as an expert that a journalist may want to interview later. Journalists are always looking for people to interview and they assemble lists of experts in various fields to refer to when needed for a story they are covering.

As the proprietor of a home based business you might be pleasantly surprised by the attention you get from your press release. Many people dream of being able to earn a living from home, and articles frequently address this topic. They are usually one of those trend articles that comment on the increasing viability of home based businesses and telecommuting because of technology and the internet.

It will not take much time for you to research the email addresses of the editors for your local news media. They are usually printed in the newspaper and all media outlets have a website where you will certainly find contact information. News people aren't secretive about their contact information because it's their business to be contacted by almost anyone.

In addition to emailing your press releases to your local media, be sure to post your press release online. You can add it to your website. It will increase the content at your site, make you look important, and give search engines more keywords to pick up. But don't stop there. Companies that distribute press releases on the internet are numerous and some of them will accept your press release for free.

You can find these companies by doing an internet search for "online press release distribution" and variations of those keywords. On some of these sites you will be asked to pay for distribution. Good results for your money will be at PRWeb.com for $80.

Even the free services, however, have value for you. Web publishers and bloggers might see your press release and re-publish your information on their websites if it is relevant to them. This is great because it delivers your news (and web address) to a wider audience and gets links back to your website.

As you run your business, you should always be thinking about ways to incorporate a press release into your publicity efforts. If you reach a milestone such as an anniversary or you are releasing a new product, you can consider it news and issue a press release.

If your home based business relies on sales through your website, an online press release is very helpful and you should plan to issue one or more press releases every year. Having your news disseminated through the web will complement your advertising efforts and give more people more chances of seeing your message.

Watch Live TV For Free Online - Get Connected Today by Alex Miller

This article discusses the issues behind being able to watch live TV for free online. It is important to understand the industry and know its capabilities before rushing into a purchase.

There is a lot of talk at the moment about whether it is possible and legal to watch live tv for free online or not. There are a plethora of sites out there that offer this possibility, but it seems hard to imagine that you can gain access to thousands of channels using just your computer.

It must be said now that 95% of sites that offer this capability do not deliver what they promise. They claim to supply you with XYZ, and after you have taken out your credit card and paid, you are bitterly disappointed with the lack of channels and the quality.

However, they are a small number of sites that can give you what you want, that being live TV for free from your computer.

If you are new to the opportunity of watching live TV for free online, let me cover a few areas to clear your mind of any questions you might have:

What You Need

When you sign up to a creditable web site offering such a service, you will need to download their software which is usually very small and does not take more than a few minutes to install.

Once you have done this, all you will actually need from then on is a computer, whether it is a PC or a laptop, preferably a fast internet connection, and a free media player package like RealPlayer or MediaPlayer which you can download for free from their relevant sites.

With regards to an internet connection, the faster the internet connection the faster you will stream. As a result, you will receive a higher quality picture and sound to go with it. With a decent connection, you can watch fantastic television on full screen. The capability is there.

It will work from a dial-up computer, and you can still enjoy the benefits but broadband speed or higher is certainly recommended in order to receive full value.

Financial Aspect

99% of the time, you will be asked to pay a small one time fee, and from then on you will be able to watch TV for free.

Do not sign up to web sites that want you to pay a subscription charge or monthly fees because that is not how the industry mainly charges for such services. Sites asking for ongoing fees are, to be frank, being greedy.

The Freedom It Offers You

If you have picked the right package (very tricky these days), then being able to watch TV online offers you substantial freedom and other benefits.

You can watch exactly what you would like to watch without others changing the channel. This is especially useful when you have a family, and each person wants to watch something different.

If you do not actually have cable or satellite in the first place, then such a service gives you this for a very small fee.

With technology these days, you can connect your computer to the television easily and reap the same rewards as you would if you were paying high monthly fees for cable!

There are many more benefits which I am sure you can think of, but ultimately it comes down to more freedom and flexibility for you.

I therefore encourage you to give the whole experience a try, because if you find the right site you will be able to watch live TV for free online today and everyday. Best of luck to you!

Over the past 4 months I have heavily researched this field, and I have found an extremely creditable site that offers you a high quality service to watch TV online for free. Watch Live TV For Free Online

Christmas Is A Time For Giving But Not To Fraudsters by MoneyExpert

Bank accounts and credit cards will be feeling the strain as we splash out on Christmas shopping and entertaining. It's reckoned total spending on plastic alone over the festive season will hit £32 billion in the UK.

Online shops are expecting record sales and ATMs will be working overtime as we take out cash. However the big spending will mean big opportunities for fraudsters. Most of us are concentrating on enjoying the festive season but for crooks it is an ideal time to make some extra money.

The good news is that the introduction of CHIP and PIN technology has cut the levels of fraud. In the first six months of this year it was down to £209 million. But that is still a lot of money and the bad news is that online credit card fraud is rising.

Play your cards right and stay safe

The most important advice is to not let your credit cards, or your card details, out of your sight when you are spending. When paying for goods your credit card should always remain visible, this will make copying or cloning your credit card or debit card details impossible by would be fraudsters.

It also means not throwing away receipts in the street or leaving them in restaurants or shops. Ideally you should shred everything but at least you should try to dispose of them safely.

Do not write down passwords, login details and PINs. If they are in your wallet and it is stolen it's an invitation to fraudsters.

And when you are online don't reply to unsolicited emails asking for your passwords and PINs. This is a technique known to fraudsters as phishing. Don't get caught in the net.

Guard your cards in shops and online

When you are taking cash out of an ATM or paying in a shop don't let anyone look over your shoulder to see what your PIN is. Use your spare hand to shield your card and PIN details.

When you are on the phone only give out your account details if you have made the call and you trust the company you are dealing with. If they phone you they should not ask for your account information, so do not let it slip if you weren't expecting the call.

You can register your credit cards with Verifiied by Visa or Mastercard SecureCode. Ask your bank or credit card provider about these services. You can register online but of course if you do register keep your password safe and secure.

When you go to your bank's website always type in the address yourself. Don't click through from emails.

And only use websites which have a security icon on them. This will be a locked padlock or an unbroken key in the bottom of your browser window.

If it all goes wrong

One in three people in the UK have been credit card fraud victims and a card fraud takes place every nine seconds. So you're not alone.

If you have been caught tell your bank or building society immediately and report the theft or loss to the police immediately.

Telling the police will make the process of getting your money back a lot easier.

Don't worry. If someone uses your credit card before you tell the bank or building society then the most you will have to pay is £50. However some companies take a tough line so you need to be able to prove you were not negligent (which may not be as easy as it seems). That means, for instance, not giving away your PIN to others and not being careless with receipts.

Zack Haris - Video Email In A Glance by Zack Haris

Video Email allows business owners to quickly and easily capture full-color video messages, using a Webcam and microphone, which can then be sent to any number of prospects via email from a Web-based Control Panel. In addition to the video message, the emails deliver a complete custom-branded experience by positioning ad graphics and hyperlinks for the business alongside the video. Business owners can also upload pre-recorded video to be used in their video email campaigns, leveraging off any existing video they may have already prepared.

Video email has outstanding potential as a cost-effective marketing vehicle that cuts through the clutter and gets noticed. The impact of online video is up to four times greater than that of any other format. And, statistics show that Web users on average watch 21 seconds of a 30 second Web ad.

Email, widely regarded as the Internet's first "killer application" has long been used to send different files as attachments along with text messages. In fact, an estimated 30 billion emails are sent everyday and email penetration is at an all time high with 80% of active Internet users accessing email on a daily basis. But large file sizes and incompatible standards made sending video by email impractical. MyVideoTalk solves this problem by using a multi-format encoding scheme that automatically converts each video into any of the leading video standards, such as Widows Media, QuickTime, RealPlayer and Flash. Instead of sending the actual video file, the email contains a preview image and special link to the video file which is located on MVT's streaming video server. When a recipient opens the video link, this server automatically detects which format the recipient is capable of viewing and serves the appropriate file. Some of the technology highlights of MVT Live Video Email include:

* Seamless integration with easy-to-use streaming video all from one inbox

* Offers the strongest spam and virus protection filters available and is POP3 compliant

* Deliverable in any media format (you no longer have to worry about deciding which movie player to prepare your video content in)

* MVT's transcoding server side appliance transforms the original video into multiple media formats

* Available at high and low bandwidth-speed

By adding video to email marketing campaigns business owners can describe their products or services in a more dynamic way, using proven sales techniques like demonstrations and video testimonials from satisfied customers. "It's like putting an info-commercial in their inbox. And, with pricing that's easily accessible to MVT's target market of small to medium-sized businesses, MVT Live Video Email packages offer everything a business needs to create and manage multimedia marketing campaigns.

All customers need is an inexpensive Webcam and microphone. The Web-based MVT Live Video Email Control Panel works like popular email applications such as Microsoft Outlook or Hotmail and has many of the same features, like contact management, appointment setting and calendaring. It also has an easy step-by-step video recording "Wizard" to simplify the video production process and reporting views so business owners can track performance statistics for their campaigns.

As an introduction to this new service, MVT Representative from Singapore, Zack Haris are offering businesses a free personal demonstration and MVT Live Video Email trial account to try the product hands-on. It Consulting - Buyer Fraud Prevention by John Hammond

Hiring the wrong computer consultant is not only frustrating, but it can also leave you cheated of your money. There is no dearth of 'IT consulting guys' who cause inconvenience with their unethical behavior. For this very simple reason business owners are left feeling over-charged. The reason being - they do not choose their consultant with care. Here are a few points that will help you guard yourself from scams and getting ripped off.

1) Run a background check: Today, with a few hundred dollars and a click of a mouse, even you can be a computer consultant. The point I am trying to get across is that the computer industry is not regulated like the medical, law or accounting fields. Due to lack of laws and code of conduct, consumers are not protected from malpractice and substandard work. Therefore, it is absolutely important that you conduct a through background check by checking business references so that you can distinguish the professionals from the wannabes. You should always ask for references and if you don't get any, then stay away from those consulting companies.

2) Interview the prospective consultant: Remember the last time you shopped for shoes? You tried on a pair, walk around in-front of a mirror, trying to assure yourself of making the right choice. It would be wise if you interviewed your consultant just as meticulously. Try questioning him about his knowledge regarding the software you use, his previous network assignments, specific responsibilities, duration of experience and how many technicians he has on staff. A good IT consultant will always do his homework and answer your questions with relevant proof. By having a short discussion with open ended questions you will realize whether they are interested in solving your business problems or sending you hefty invoices.

3) Sign a contractual agreement: Make sure to enter into a written agreement which specifies nature, duration of work, rate of compensation etc. This will ensure that the consultant is aware of his task and meets all your specifications. An agreement will protect you from having to pay for undelivered service and/or substandard work. It's always a good idea to run it by an attorney and insist a change if any clause is not in your interest.

4) Check the compensation scale: A major mistake many business owners make in hiring an IT consultant is without checking the going rate in the industry. You need to do some research to find out the pay range for the services you require before overpaying. While large IT consulting firms charge anywhere from $350 to $400 per hour, individual consultants are likely to charge about $100 to $300 per hour. Charges also vary depending on nature of job, your geographical location and the consultant's reputation and duration of experience.

5) Warranty: As a standard rule you must be offered a one year guarantee on the service of material used. Also enquire what the consultant's policy is regarding exchange, emergency support system and technical assistance. However, some problems are so common that consultants cannot guarantee that they will not recur i.e. the problem of pop-ups and internet viruses.

6) Do your own research: More than often, IT consultants buy additional software or equipment either to upgrade or repair your system, and most of the time you are charged for it. If you do basic research, you can compare the market price to the price you are being charged. Very few IT consulting companies will actually pass on the savings to you, ask the consultant, if they say they do not make money on the purchase make sure they mention that in the contractual agreement.

7) Demand an explanation: There are many people out there who are looking for any excuse to get their hands into your pockets. By talking in technical lingo your consultant may try convincing you into buying the latest and the greatest whether or not you need it so that he can make money from the purchased software. So go ahead and request explanation in simple English and consent such a purchase only when convinced. Be aware of any technical consultant who tries to sell you a product just because it's new and run away (real fast) from those who recommend that the solution to all your problems is to upgrade to the latest network equipment.

As technology advances, the average computer user's level of knowledge decreases. Due to this they trust people with the slightest computer training to be experts and hire them as IT consultants. Many people have been duped in the bargain. If you feel you are not being treated right or are being ripped off, go ahead and get a second opinion. Ultimately, a lot in this world runs on trust. You should be able to have a relationship with your IT consulting company. Why should you settle for anything you're not comfortable with? You might know a thing about technology, but if your prospective IT consultant makes you feel any smarter by educating you a little more, then you have winner.

Virtual Law Enforcement Answered With Earning A Criminal Justice Degree Online by Andy West

Many individuals are drawn to considering law enforcement or criminal justice as career choices. Next to psychology, most people today consider a profession in law to be one that's desirable and that offers strong job security. Colleges and campuses offering instruction in criminal justice are easy to find, but choosing to train for a criminal justice degree online may be the smarter choice, taking into consideration our technological world and its increasing need to crack down on virtual law enforcement. Receiving training in the very environment that many individuals will end up actually working in can boost appeal for prospective employers. What's more, the personal requirements needed to obtain an online degree including determination, dedication and the will to achieve, are desirable ones for criminal justice areas, portraying to potential employers an individual serious about his or her career.

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice can open the door to many positions in the field, such as courtroom administrator, police officer, private security officer, probation or parole officer, juvenile delinquency case manager, corrections officer, or police detective. Even the very jobs that one would think need on-site training at campuses can be a possibility via online education. Colleges can provide a solid start in enforcement positions and once an individual has completed their criminal justice degree online, he or she can certainly move on to more in-depth training to narrow down the career of their choice and receive more pertinent, specific skills. Students wanting to increase their credentials can pursue a Master's degree, which certainly makes any individual a strong contender for positions in the law enforcement industry.

A criminal justice degree can also involve other job options, such as becoming a paralegal or working in computer network security. Many enterprises and corporations look to save costs by hiring the services of paralegals or even employing a paralegal directly and having one on staff at all times. Tasks that were once thought to only involve lawyers are now being delegated more and more to paralegals, and the prospectus for employment options for this occupation is expected to rise as more businesses become savvy and seek to reduce expenses.

For network security considerations, technology and law enforcement meet head on, and skills tailor-made to deal with security breaches and cyber terrorists nearly guarantee job security in a high paying position. Insidious stealth attacks designed to bring companies crashing to their knees require highly skilled individuals with critical training toward valuable database information and protect businesses from unwanted infiltration, either by hackers, attackers or viral activity. Cyber security is claimed to be the top priority by 81% of business executives, and salaries are double what other online degrees might provide. The rewards of such a high-tech employment position and the growing demand for professionals makes this field a solid choice with strong job placement opportunities.

Online training is a good option for those individuals who need to work at their own pace or blend employment and family. The convenience of being able to earn college credits towards valuable certification, combined with pertinent instruction that rivals any education directly on site at college campuses, makes studying online an excellent option. Curriculum is offered by colleges that have a fine reputation and are recognized by employers and businesses, as well as large corporations. The business world has moved to embrace and accept technology, and also shown its approval of distance education. A criminal justice degree online is more than enough for individuals to be attractive additions to any enterprise and can provide job security in an age where turnover can be high and solid qualifications are important to professional survival.

Obtaining A Health Care Management Degree Online Can Be Personally Satisfying by Andy West

Education is a booming industry these days. Whereas once the trend for young professionals was to follow in their parents' footsteps and take over the family business, a competitive, fast-paced world has changed the face of finding and keeping employment a challenge. Businesses open and fold daily, turnover in the job market is very high, and more and more individuals look for security and high income to meet the demands of their financial obligations and economics in general. However, people are also looking for employment that is personally satisfying and that fulfills a part of their lives to maintain high levels of enjoyment and pride in their careers. The health care field answers those needs for many individuals. But finding that perfect job nowadays isn't easy, and businesses ask for top-quality instruction and skills. With colleges and educational facilities responding to the demand of better training while meeting changing technology, individuals are often faced with the question of earning a health care management degree online or in a more traditional setting at a college campus.

Which educational experience is best depends a great deal on the individual student's needs and personality, as well as what type of investment in time, effort and money each one is willing to make. Certainly, earning college credits and obtaining a degree can be expensive, no matter which route the student takes, but there are advantages to working towards a health care management degree online versus enrolling in lectures and courses at an educational facility or campus. The convenience of being able to earn certification in a virtual world and society's increasing acceptance and penchant for online education may be changing the face of health care qualification as we know it.

As far as basic costs go, obtaining a health management care degree online can be the less pricey option. Relocation to study at the campus of choice isn't an issue, and commuter costs disappear completely. All that's usually required to study from a distance is a computer and Internet access. Textbook costs remain fixed, and course book requirements offered directly at a college, training facility or online, are generally the same. Students in an online environment most often use the same textbooks their campus colleagues are learning from and books are shipped directly to the student's home, removing the headache of taking time to shop. Tuition may vary from facility to facility, but the overall cost is generally the same whether a student opts to attend a college or earn credit from home. Financial aid is possible for both on-site and online learning, and no student is discriminated against due to his or her choice of methods of obtaining an education.

The quality of instruction for online education can be better than that offered directly at campuses. Curriculum of courses is specific and perfected to achieve maximum training via the medium offered. Professors who construct online courses are usually leaders in their field or have a depth of experience that makes them better qualified to prepare course material pertinent to earning a health care management degree online. Also, distraction from fellow students in a lecture hall as questions are asked or background noise interferes with delivery of course material is completely removed in the online option, which means students obtaining their credits through the internet can focus better and concentrate more on their work. Management positions don't require hands-on training with patients, though simulated work and text specific to cases is covered.

Convenience, of course, is the largest attraction to earning a rewarding health care management degree online. Those who choose to increase their skills and knowledge or people seeking to enter the field of health care can study at their leisure and their own pace. Individual speed and needs are taken into consideration with this option, as one student may enjoy a slower pace while others can move ahead if the course material is understood. Also, online education allows individuals to combine work, home life and studying, which means that someone obtaining their education through the Internet can effectively continue to earn income and spend time with their children or partners. Considering the level of stress that rushing from place to place and scheduling time compiles in our lives, especially in such a rapid-moving world, studying from home has increased the popularity of earning qualification online as opposed to on-campus training.

Finding the right facility for earning a health care management degree online is fairly easy. College websites provide all the information required, including curriculum, course schedules, dates, and resource contacts. Online degrees have earned a fine reputation in the business world and are considered equal, if not superior, to degrees obtained on campus. An individual's home location is irrelevant, and those looking for quality education can enroll in schools across the country or even the world, instead of making do with facilities in their area. The chances of obtaining employment in the health care sector increases proportionately to the strength of skills and quality of training potential professionals have, making online education a wise choice.

Blogging the Easy Way by David Pierce

Blogging is all the rage nowadays. It is a fun and inexpensive way to make your voice heard on the Internet. Through blogging you can make your daily thoughts (intimate or not) publicly known - and with a greater audience. This makes the service great for diary keeping (if making a public diary is your cup of tea), marketing (blogging is a great way to perform marketing - more of that later), and information sharing and updating.

Why Blog? Blogging is a way of life. It is probably one of the most enabling forces of technology to hit the Internet in the last few years. Curiously, it has allowed a greater involvement of people with technology and information. The great thing about blogging is that it is easy to learn and easy to get into - especially with a blogging service like Blogger.

Blogs are, in a technical sense, content management software that helps you effectively organize and catalog a chronological journal of information that is posted regularly. It is a lot more effective than static websites that, however well managed, cannot exude a sense of intimacy, and urgency as a blog. In some sense, a blog can be likened to a diary, which for many people, especially those in the online world, can be much more interesting than a regular newspaper.

Blogger Comes into the Picture Blogger is a free service offered by Google. Pyra studios first developed it with a total workforce of about three people. It achieved great success during the dot com boom and subsequently had to manage a disappointing decline during the dot com bust.

After years of treading water, piece by piece Pyra studios was able to keep the members of the already formidable Blogger community happy. In time, Blogger boasted of a community of 100,000 members. In 2002, Google stepped in to the picture and purchased Blogger. Pyra continued to exist as an entity as a department within the Google family.

Why Blogger? Why choose Blogger? There are hundreds of reasons. Here are a few that will at the same time, give us a better picture of Blogger as a blog service.

1. It is Free. You can sign up for Blogger for free. You can either sign up as a new user or you can use your Gmail account to sign up for Blogger. There are no start up fees, and no recurring fees. It is pretty much like the free Google service Gmail. The ads are minimal and do not present themselves as a hindrance to enjoying the service. Also, just because it is free doesn't mean that it has fewer features - actually, it is quire the contrary.

2. Fully Featured. The great thing about Blogger is that it provides most of the features that even subscription blogging sites do not offer. The Blogger panel offers a very attractive interface with other attractive templates to choose from. You can avail of standard features like in most blogs. Post entries, insert pictures, modify your interface using HTML, insert useful utilities (like visitor counter, etc.), and generally enjoy a robust and complete blogging package.

3. Easy Indexing. The Blogger community is easily searchable. You can find blogs related to pretty much any hobby or interest you have. Your blog is also automatically submitted to this list and made available for searching. Also, the interface is easy to understand and modify. It also offers suggestions on other great blogs to visit. In effect, it does a little advertising on your behalf since it could very well recommend your blog to others browsing for blogs to subscribe to.

4. Business Advantages. The great thing about Blogger is that it is easy to insert Adsense ads and other advertisements on your page. You also get your own blogspot URL to make your site easily accessible by other people. Blogs are a great way to market any product or service. This is because it is an intimate, information filled journal that allows for easy commenting and feedback. This intimate approach to marketing is wildly successful and has led many large companies to employ blogs in their business strategies. Readers of blogs love the fact that the entries are regular and informative. Also they love the fact that they are intimate and give the impression of a friend talking about something. Readers truly respond to this type of marketing.

Coverking: No cover-up in providing great custom auto accessories by Paul Rogers

It would be appropriate enough to cap-off a rather gruelling amount of time spending almost a fortune for customizing and enhancing the performance of a vehicle by protecting it from the many potential harms that may damage the ride. With Coverking's foremost attention details bore into very intricate custom car cover patterns, car seat covers that look like original upholstery. The dashboard cover suit up like a glove. While the Coverking custom floormats provide protection to the carpetting against mud, dirt, snow or other undesirable elements causing stains or other sorts of damages to the flooring.

Established in 1986, Coverking remained steadfast with its principles of quality, technology, and service. Thus, it has maintained high-rate of customer satisfaction through the years. The relatively backward industry of cut-and-sew custom automotive accessories industry was completely evolutionized by Coverking's advanced knowledge and experience in aerospace defence weapon systems.

Advanced CAD/CAM systems were designed for aerospace applications were purchased for making Coverking custom dash covers. This system lead to previously unattainable levels of pattern quality. The automation practice trigger better efficiencies allowing Coverking to produce better fitting product, in shorter times at less costs. The same principle was applied for manufacturing and designing custom floor mats, custom car covers, custom seat covers, and custom sun shields.

Another edge of Coverking over the competition is its tenet of "fewest seams possible." Customer needs have become so sophisticated and have become irked with the "quilt look." Coverking's cunning design projects a more avant-garde look without losing durability.

Coverking's fabrics don't rely on "off the shelf" materials. It ties up with some of the world's most reknowned textile mills to don the manufacturing. Furthermore, the materials are breathable, which means that it allows for moisture inside the vehicle to go out. This impedes the "greenhouse" state of condensation resulting to rust damage. People behind the company are very experienced and skilled engineers carefully testing and specifying the exact material and construction.

No wonder Coverking still enjoys the distinction of being a mover and a shaker in the auto industry. With many years of industry experience, dedicated and skillful employee base, precision design and high-grade materials, Coverking has all the needs covered in customized auto accessories.

Getting Started With Affiliate Internet Marketing by Michelle Greene

When it comes to working from home, there has truly never been a better time in history to get started. Consider yourself incredibly lucky to live in an age where the internet can connect you to more potential customers and partners than any 'real world' business could hope to achieve, a true global environment.

An internet marketing business provides you with a unique opportunity to say goodbye to your day job and say hello to a new life. Deciding to work for home may appear to be a great solution for many employees. You can practically cut out your commute, spend more time with family and possibly earn four, five and even six figure incomes solely via the internet.

There are countless ways to make money online. However, starting a business from home does not have to mean complex business plans, mountains of paper work and employing people. It can simply be just you and your computer, and a few bright ideas.

Getting started is where a lot of people get stuck. There are so many choices and new things to learn that it's easy to get overwhelmed. To provide you with a few ideas, here are several work at home business ideas to get your started.

Write eBooks

Some of the most popular information products are eBooks and they are big business online. If you have a topic you are passionate and knowledgeable on, consider creating a short ebook and selling it on a website or on eBay. Effectively marketed, your eBook can bring some attractive profits.

Information is the hottest commodity in the World Wide Web. This is why the Internet is called the information superhighway. If you'd be able to provide the right kind of information, you will never run out of potential customers. This is especially true if you manage to find a hungry market where the demand for such information would be immense.

Writing an eBook is very similar to writing a special report. An eBook is work composed of approximately 30 or more pages. Anything shorter would be considered as a special report. Here are eight easy to follow steps you could take to come up with an eBook:

1. Select a topic that you have some knowledge about. This can be skill from your current or previous job experience. For example, if you've worked at a pet store, you may have experience training parrots. Now suppose you choose the niche of parrots, a good topic to write about is "how to select the perfect pet parrot."

2. Prepare an outline for your ebook. You should strive to make it as organized as possible. Start with the most basic concepts, and gradually proceed to the more advanced ones.

3. Do your research! This is very important. If you're offering something in exchange for your prospective customers' hard-earned money, you should give them something valuable. A well-researched work is what they deserve. Don't rip people off.

4. Fill out your outline with the necessary information to get your point across to the reader. If you have a great outline, this shouldn't be a problem. All you have to do is write about your topic that you've researched and include them in the specific portions allotted of the outline.

5. This is very important: avoid plagiarism. Plagiarism could ruin you. You need to learn how to respect intellectual property rights when you're doing business online. There are no ifs and buts about it and it could get you into legal hot water. Only create original works of art that you plan to sell. 6. Once you have finished the draft of your eBook or special report, be sure to proofread it for errors. Put it aside and then come back to it. You'll see it from a fresh perspective and obvious errors will stand out. Be sure to make corresponding corrections.

7. Once you have your error-free manuscript, it's always a good idea to design an attractive and attention-grabbing eCover for your eBook. People always say that no one should judge a book by its cover. But you know from everyday experience, this is simply not true. Many books, and many eBooks, are sold on the basis of their covers alone. Invest on a good eCover to boost your sales.

8. Consider the format for you ebook. The 2 most popular formats are .exe and .pdf. The only problem is that only windows users can run the .exe format and most people don't like to run .exe files for fear of viruses and spyware. An excellent choice would be to use the .pdf format. Being in .pdf format would allow more people to read your eBook, as a variety of computer platforms recognize this file type.

Once you have completed these steps, you will own an information product that is ready to be sold. Now that you've created an ebook you will want to sell it on the website. You'll need a website to do this.

Set Up A Content Site Or Blog On A Topic Of Interest

There are ways you can monetize this website or blog with the Google Adsense advertising program. You can also use product affiliate links. Research items of interest to the group you're targeting and provide relevant information they would be interested in. Once you develop one successful site, consider building several more. This is an excellent form of passive income after you have laid the foundation, just simply do it over and over again..

Hire Out Your Services

Are you good at graphic design, programming, writing? These skills are in demand, and hiring out your services can ensure a nice regular income. There are several sites online where you can list your services for hire. Popular sites are elance, rentacoder.com and scriptlance to name a few.

I have listed just a very few of the unlimited methods of having a work at home online business. Focusing on one or two of these is ideal - ensuring all your efforts are focused on a small target rather than scattered everywhere is the very best way to know if you are going in the right direction.

Keep in mind there are many forums and communities where you can seek help from people who have been working at home for years. And there are countless information products covering all facets of internet marketing. Although you've chosen to work at home, you are never truly alone in the world of internet marketing!

How E-commerce Can Help You Start A Work At Home Based Business by Anthony Samuel

E-commerce, or electronic commerce, refers to marketing, buying, selling, and distribution of products or services over the Internet, or other computer networks. In the larger context of business, e-commerce transactions involve, among others, supply chain management, electronic funds transfer, e-marketing, online transaction processing, and electronic data interchange (EDI). In addition, it also involves online marketing, automated inventory management systems, and automated data collection systems.

Due to advancements in computer technologies, and the easy access of electronic communications technology of the World Wide Web, it has become easier to carry out all the above business transactions as a home based business. As a home business, e-commerce can cover a range of different businesses, such as consumer based retail sites, auction or music sites, business exchanges - trading goods and services between corporations, etc.

If you intend to use your home business just to supplement your income, or if you are a woman with family responsibilities, and wish to add to the family income by some e-commerce activities from home, you can consider the following home businesses:

Affiliate Programs - You affiliate yourself with a company and act as a middleman/woman between it and the customers, by promoting the goods or the services the company offers. You get paid depending on the sales you generate, or by directing the prospective customers to the website of your partner company, through your own website.

There is a variety of categories of businesses offering affiliate programs, and they are a good start to help you start making money from home.

Email Processing - This is another easy way to make money from home. On joining this program, you need too perform some tasks concerning emails. Your payment will depend on the number of emails you will process. Sign up requires payment, so you need to select the cheapest, and the best paying. Initially, do not sign up for many programs.

Paid Surveys - To stay in business and to remain competitive, companies depend on, and conduct, market surveys and researches. Through Internet, these surveys and researches can be conducted at highly reduced costs.

Before you are allowed to participate in a particular survey, you need to fit their demographic profile. You are compensated accordingly, though most do not pay much. However, participating in a number of them can bring in some extra money.

If any sign up fees is involved, keep it low, as most surveys do not work.

Home Data Entry And Typing - Home data entry is a great home business. This is basically cleric work, requiring you to input information. Such a job pays well if you are able to find a good employer. Ensure the start up fee is low.

People who do not have the time, or the inclination, to do their own typing, outsource this work. This is a straightforward typing job that does not require much skill. This is a real opportunity to make some extra income.

Transcription Work - If you are doing medical or legal transcription, you may require some basic skills to understand the medical and legal jargon. You are required to type on paper what the doctors or the lawyers have recorded on tape.

You can supplement your family income well, but take care to keep sign up fees low.

You can also do a lot of other miscellaneous freelance work from home. If you are good at it, you can supplement your income by writing web content articles. If you have certain skills, such as programming or other computer skills, you can bid for online work. You need to assess your skills, and see what interests you, and go for it.

Protect Your PC Against Virsuses and Spyware by David Fishman

A yes, this is what we've been so eargerly awaiting from Nintendo.

Wii device isn't a new product, but i wanted to mention it because there is news on the Nintendo world.

Nintendo Wii launched the big unique controller of any console for Google Earth interface.

Through simple buttons you can tilt to rotate (button B), you can control zoom (button Plus/Minus) and you can view a full-screen (button One).

Seems good to play with Google Earth, but we're not sure what you'd do with some typical modern games.

I haven't tried it but i'll do that soon ,now we just have to want to see how long a device like this takes to get success.

Now, Look the demo of J. Coulston's WiiGoogleEarth.PIE and Use the wii controller to move Google Earth.

Article Search Engine: GoArticles.com:
The key to effective and efficient spyware detection and removal is in the spyware file definitions database that is provided by the software developer. Spyware removal software is just what it sounds like it is, a software program that will go through your computer and get rid of spyware and other programs you do not want to have on your machine. However, since it can be transmitted in a number of ways, spyware removal software may be something you want to try just in case you have acquired software without your knowing it. Several spyware removal software programs have been identified as fakes, but not before many computer users were drawn into the trap. With the demand for anti-spyware tools continuously on the rise because of the constant release of new and more invasive spyware scams, computer users may find themselves falling victim to malicious software downloads while searching for the right spyware removal tool.

The computer user will be unaware that this is happening as spyware software applications are usually hidden components in both freeware and shareware programs that can be downloaded from the internet. The challenge for us is to know where to go for these results and recommendations, and to know which of the anti-spyware and anti-virus programs to use on our computers. A real benefit for us is that most of the top rated anti-spyware and anti-virus programs are free, or available in Trial or Demo versions. There are thousands of these programs out on the internet that are just waiting to leach onto their next unsuspecting victim and launch hundreds of annoying popups on the victim's computer or worst steal the victims Identity. Besides the most obvious issues of identity theft, spyware, adware, malware and other similar programs can greatly slow down your PC causing it to behave in ways you would never expect. The free spyware cleaners are good programs to get rid of spyware viruses you already have on your computer now. But how much of your personal information, passwords and even credit card numbers did these programs send out before they were removed.

To keep the anti-virus software working effectively it must be updated every couple of days and letting it become out-dated may harm your computer. Anti-virus software will help to keep your computer safe against worms, viruses, Trojan horses, and other uninvited programs. The important thing to remember about anti-virus software is that you make sure to update it often so that you get the latest computer virus definitions installed into the software program.

Here's what you should look for when choosing anti-virus software:. They speak of up-to-date definitions and thorough scanning of the computer, and they are correct in that the anti-virus programs of today are leaps and bounds ahead of what was available just a couple years ago. The general way that almost every anti-virus program works is that it must be updated regularly to download the definitions of the newest viruses and spyware.

Defrag my harddrive by Junior Buddings

WHAT IS DEFRAG (DEFRAGMENTING), WHY DO I NEED TO DEFRAG MY HARDDRIVE?

Oh boy, this is a big one. OK, here we go. First thing you need to remember is to defragment your harddrive once in a while, I do this at least once a month. As files are deleted and written to the harddrive, the pieces get placed in different locations of the harddrive. So, as I delete a bunch of small files, this creates small gaps of free space all over the harddrive. Then when I finally write a big file to the harddrive, that big file will be distributed throught the harddrive and fill these little spaces of free-space. That means that if I need to access this big file again, the harddrive will need to jump to various places just to read the file. This is very inefficient, and a possible reason for a slow down. YOUR FILE IS NOW IN FRAGMENTS.

We want to DEFRAGMENT the files by re-arranging the files on the harddrive and making each individual file WHOLE again. That is the job of the Defrag tool, and will help in speeding up access to your files again.

Things to remember:

-Right click the drive you want to defrag,>Click on Properties>Click on the Tools Tab>Click on Defragmentation.

-Make sure you have disabled anything that might access the harddrive or interrupt the defrag; screensavers, sleep mode, hibernate, virus-protect, if any of these programs are running in the background, it might cause your defrag to start over and over.

-You need at least 15% of your harddrive free for a fully efficient defrag.

Every Microsoft Windows operating system has a registry. Your system registry holds a wealth of information about your computer, which is why we constantly hear from users that after using their PC for a short length of time, it no longer works the way it used to. This is due in part to invalid entries that exist in your system registry, that might exist because of software you are no longer using or software that was not properly removed. By removing these invalid entries, you can significantly increase the performance of your PC.

Why Fix your Registry?

Many locations exist that are the cause of the most common PC troubles. By pinpointing these locations, and using the Registry scanner allows you to scan for invalid registry entries that might be causing your PC issues. The software will inform you of where the errors exist, and what potential errors they might cause. Registryfix will scan for errors related to ActiveX controls, DLL issues, Windows explorer errors, Windows installer issues, Internet Explorer errors, Iexpore and System32 errors, runtime errors, and a wide variety of other system issues.
